Injured arrive in Kiev hospitals as concern grows in US

Crowds are building outside hospitals in Ukraine as more and more injured continue to arrive.

After days of violence, hundreds are injured and at least 75 people have died.

(SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) SERGEI GORISLOVOVIC, DEPUTY CHIEF DOCTOR AT HOSPITAL, SAYING:

"Today, 18 injured people were delivered to our hospital. Unfortunately, one died. The injured were in critical condition. Gunshot wounds to the head, neck, cranial cavities and limbs. The man who died suffered from a gunshot wound to the head."

The fighting is the worst violence since Ukraine emerged from the crumbling Soviet Union 22 years ago.

In the United States, the Ukrainian community is marking the violence with a candlelight vigil.

Singing the Ukrainian national anthem and reading the names of victims, they mourn.

At the White House, there's even more concern.
