Few signs of peace in Geneva or Syria

The U.N. says thousands flee a rebel-held town in Syria near the border with Lebanon amid fears of a major assault by ground troops.

The video, which can not be independently verified by Reuters comes as peace talks in Geneva wind down with little movement to forge peace.

In Geneva the opposition says the Syrian government is dug in.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) OPPOSITION'S SYRIAN NATIONAL COALITION SPOKESMAN LOUAY SAFI SAYING:

"We are saying that the way the regime is negotiating is not leading to a result, and this is not only a conviction from our side, this is a conviction born now that these negotiations are not going in any direction."

The only tangible achievement of the talks has been a temporary ceasefire in Homs to allow in aid and to let people leave the city.

In contrast U.N. aid cannot reach parts of northern Syria because Damascus will not let U.N. convoys enter the country from Turkey, since all the border crossings are held by rebels.
