Special parliamentary session in Ukraine hopes to quell civil unrest

Government and opposition leaders are expected to discuss concessions to laws that restrict demonstrations during a special session of parliament Tuesday in the hopes of ending the months long bloody civil unrest gripping the Ukraine capital.

During a meeting between President Viktor Yanukovich and protest leaders on Monday, Yanukovich agreed to roll back some of the anti-protest laws that set off the most recent rounds clashes earlier this month.

A member of Yanukovich's cabinet made the announcement Monday night.

Also on the table during Tuesday's session- discussions over of amnesty for detained protesters and political prisioners.

How much or little progress is made is anyone's guess.
