IMF head says will raise global economic growth forecast

There is more optimism from the International Monetary Fund which now thinks that global growth this year will be better than previously expected.

On a visit to Kenya, managing director Christine Lagarde revealed that in about three weeks time the IMF will revise its economic growth forecast upwards.

She gave no reason for the revision, adding it would be premature to say any more at this time.

Back in October the IMF cut its expectation for the pace of expansion this year to 3.6 percent, but since then has said it sees “a lot more certainty” for the US economy, the world’s biggest.
