Deadly snowstorm wreaks havoc in US

At least 16 people have been killed, as heavy snow and freezing temperatures struck cities across the eastern United States.

The year's first major winter storm brought large-scale disruptions to several cities.

Four thousand flights have been delayed or cancelled, and the governors of New York and New Jersey have called a state of emergency to finance the clearing of major highways.
