Ostalgie entstand als Begriff einem Wortspiel aus den Worten „Osten“ und „Nostalgie“. Wörtlich bedeutet „Ostalgie“ „Heimweh nach dem Osten“. So haben nicht nur manche Heimweh nach den DDR - Zeiten sondern viel Sammler interessieren sich auf für Sammelgegenstände aus der DDR - Zeit und auch Dinge, die erst nach der Wende im DDR - Stil hergestellt wurden.
