Birth of a child is a miracle in itself.

One lady in China is somehow doing great after bringing an enormous baby into the world.

The infant weighed 13 pounds and 10 ounces. For those unfamiliar with standard newborn sizes, that figure is about double of what is considered normal.

The infant was recently born at Shanghai hospital and the baby, whose gender and name were not released, is said to be doing fine. According to the 27-year-old mom, she focused on a healthy diet during her pregnancy.

Her main daily cravings consisted of eggs, milk and an abundance of fruit. However according to doctors as the hospital, the woman gained weight exceptionally quickly during those nine months.

She also reportedly spent a good portion of her time in bed, rather than taking part in low impact exercises. Although the infant is healthy right now, the massive birth weight may negatively affect the coming years.

According to an associate chief physician at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University “Obesity may affect the baby's health in the future. Rates of obesity and diabetes are obviously higher for an adolescent or an adult who was born overweight.”
