President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama joined Bill and Hillary Clinton on Wednesday to recognize the legacy of John F. Kennedy, the president who inspired a generation until he was felled by an assassin's bullets 50 years ago this week.

Together, they laid a ceremonial wreath in front the "Eternal Flame" at Kennedy's grave at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

Kennedy, 46, was shot to death by assassin Lee Harvey Oswald on November 22, 1963, as he and his wife, Jacqueline, rode in a motorcade in Dallas.
