Up in flames: A Clarkesville, Georgia man will face criminal charges after a freak accident in which he set his wife ablaze while sparking a cigarette lighter near his truck's gas tank as he was filling up.

Austin Dawkins, 37, and wife Jessica, 30 , were stopped at a local Gulf gas station on the night of October 16. While the pair chatted casually, a surveillance camera was filming everything. Video of the incident released by the Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commission show the pair standing near vehicle's fuel inlet. State fire officials allege Dawkins the flicked his lighter near the open fuel tank causing a fuel vapor explosion.

Jessica Dawkins suffered second and third-degree to her legs, back, arms and head. She was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and has since been released, according to commissioner Ralph Hudgens

Her husband was arrested on Friday and charged with reckless conduct. He faces up to a $1,000 fine and a year in prison if convicted.
