Former political aide left in coma after being shot twice in the head

The former aide of a politician is in critical condition after being shot twice in the head by a man outside a coffee shop in George Town, Malaysia, according to reports.
Tan Hock Chin was having drinks with some friends at around 11pm when a man wearing a full-face helmet approached them, The Star reported.
According to the New Straits Times, the man pulled out a revolver and shot Tan twice in the head.
He then ran 30 meters to a motorcycle where an accomplice was waiting.
In his haste to escape the gunman dropped his helmet and his waist pouch containing several rounds of ammunition.
The victim was taken to the Sungai Bakap Hospital for treatment before being transferred to Penang Hospital, where he remains in a coma, the Star reported.
The family of the man has asked for police protection, according to the New Straits Times.
The motive of the shooting had yet to be determined.
