Rachel Cassidy misidentified as Ohio University rape victim

As discussion about the Ohio University alleged sexual assault case continues, Rachel Cassidy has been forced to live another woman's life. Within days after the public sex photos became viral, the 20 year-old journalism student was identified as the woman in the video. Bloggers have been accusing the woman in the video of reporting the sexual assault out of embarrassment over the incident.

Twitter user @Anon_Central named Cassidy as the woman in the video and called her "liar" who is only interested in saving her own "ass." Cassidy came out on Tuesday and said she was nowhere near the site of the incident. She said she was sleeping when the alleged assault took place. She learned about her misidentification after her friend found her name associated with the photos all over the Internet.

Endless cyberbullying has forced her to deactivate all of her social media accounts. She also asked the school to take down all of her information. She has been afraid to leave her house because of the level of vitriol she had experienced. While family and friends showed her immediate support, Cassidy has also decided to move on with her life.

Police and school official are aware of the true identity of the woman in the video, but it is unclear whether her name will ever be released. Meanwhile, she reportedly has no idea about what happened that night.
