Tornado-ravaged town limps towards recovery

Reminders of the massive tornado that tore through Moore, Oklahoma Monday litter the streets.

Cars are stranded.

Clothes still hang in a closet of a destroyed home.

A family home now serves as a backdrop as a reporter describes the scene.

As dawn breaks officials are increasingly confident that everyone caught in the disaster had been accounted for.

Despite initial reports of many more deaths, the toll now stands at 24 --- with 240 injured.

The hope now is to move on says sergeant Jeremy Lewis with the Moore Police Department.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) JEREMY LEWIS, SERGEANT WITH MOORE POLICE DEPARTMENT, SAYING:

"There's not a whole lot of change last night. We still have officers searching the area. I believe they're wrapping up the search at the elementary school. What we're hoping to accomplish today is to open up some of the areas that are still closed off, possibly allowing residents back in at some point, still haven't heard that word
