Dr Reeta Herzallah

Dr Reeta Herzallah is a Paediatric Consultant on the GMC Specialist Register who has worked in the NHS since August 2005. She has special interest in teaching, academia and Paediatric Respiratory.

Dr Herzallah’s qualifications include an MBBS from the University of Jordan, an MRCPCH from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, an MSc in Clinical Trials from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a CCT from East Midlands South Deanery. She undertook an honorary Academic Clinical Fellowship at the University of Leicester performing research in Paediatric Respiratory as well as a second fellowship in Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis.

Dr Herzallah cultivates, maintains and nurtures strong patient and family relationships, conducive to excellent patient care. She actively promotes knowledge sharing, clinical governance and best practice implementation whilst demonstrating a positive response to pressure in a fast-paced and often strenuous working environment. She has received a number of awards including ‘leading care with compassion’, ‘caring at its best’, ‘valuable contribution to teaching’ and ‘research championship’. She constantly evaluates and implements evidence-based practice and has conducted a number of research projects in Paediatrics, particularly around childhood asthma with publications and presentations in national and international conferences.

Dr Herzallah regularly leads in the acute and chronic management of paediatric patients across General Paediatrics, Paediatric Emergency Medicine, Neonates, Paediatric Respiratory and High Dependency. She is passionate about global child health and supports voluntary initiatives to help alleviate child poverty and suffering.
