01:01Tu as récemment l'aider, l'aider.
01:02Tu as récemment l'aider de l'indépendant record label.
01:05Oui.
01:44« Better Place »
01:46C'est une chanson vraiment spéciale.
02:00Je l'ai fait avec des amis en L.A.
02:03My producer Ryan,
02:05when I first met him a couple of years ago,
02:07he had a version of Better Place that he played me.
02:09And it was kind of a demo.
02:11And I was just like,
02:12« Whoa, this is so cool. »
02:13And he's like, « Do you like it ? »
02:14I was like, « Yes ! »
02:15But I just didn't have the words to write it yet.
02:18And so we tried so many different versions of it and everything,
02:22and it just never quite landed until in the last six months,
02:26when we finally kind of...
02:28I feel like I kind of was going through a hard time back then,
02:31and then I had to push through it.
02:33And now that I'm doing better,
02:34I could reflect on it and say,
02:36what might have been nice to hear someone say, you know ?
02:40And that's kind of where I wrote it from.
02:42Yeah.
02:43And what are the music influences ?
02:44Because I feel like there's such a gospel vibe to it.
02:48Yeah.
02:49Like I really love the choir and everything.
02:51Yeah.
02:52Definitely a gospel vibe.
02:54I love that choir.
02:57It's funny you say that.
02:59My dad's a local singer in Minnesota,
03:02and so he always sang with this guy named Robert Robinson
03:08when I was younger going to his gigs,
03:11and there's this amazing voice-sounding guy,
03:14and he has a choir with him.
03:16And so when we had Better Place,
03:18I was just like, this is the perfect vibe.
03:20And so we flew to my hometown and tracked Robert.
03:22Okay.
03:23So that was a full circle moment for sure.
03:25And yeah, such a special song.
03:29I really like it.
03:30I really loved it too.
03:31And you also teased a new song on Instagram called More Than Enough.
03:35Fix you, gotta wanna fix you, gotta wanna tell you
03:40that you're more than enough, but now it's too late to sing.
03:44Could you tell us a little bit more about this new song?
03:47First of all, I just really like the song a lot,
03:49and it feels kind of like an anthem,
03:52like a lot of people can sing it.
03:54I've been doing it in the shows,
03:55and last night in London it was like everyone was singing,
03:58and I was like, oh my gosh.
04:00I forgot to tell you, you're more than enough,
04:03and now it's too late to sing.
04:05I forgot to tell you, I forgot to tell you, you're more than enough.
04:12So it's been really fun, and it just feels like an important song,
04:18and it feels raw and honest, and just reflecting, I guess,
04:23back on a couple years ago, and sort of trying to tell my own self,
04:28but also everybody else that you're more than enough.
04:32That's a lovely message.
04:34And are you working on an album,
04:36or are you more like releasing some singles here and there?
04:40I haven't really been thinking about it as much.
04:43I'm more just creating, and then wherever, however it comes out,
04:48that'll be great.
04:49But yeah, I have an EP coming out.
04:51Okay, that's cool.
04:52May 16th.
04:53Okay.
04:54And then after that, I'll probably have some music come out,
04:58maybe towards the end of summer.
04:59Okay, great.
05:00Next, but I'm not stopping anytime soon.
05:03Give me more on a weekend, baby.
05:05Cause you know what I've needed lately.
05:08I've been holding on too long.
05:11Yeah, yeah.
05:12How's the tour going so far?
05:14So fun.
05:15So fun.
05:16I mean, definitely jet lag at the beginning, like, flying over.
05:19Of course.
05:20I was like, what's going on?
05:21But now we're a few days in, so I'm like kind of adjusted,
05:25and it's so special to go so far from where I grew up,
05:29and there are people that are coming out.
05:30Yeah, that's crazy.
05:31I'm so excited to sing songs with, like, it's just wild.
05:34And to wrap up this interview, do you have a message for your French fans
05:38who are already waiting for you in the crowd?
05:40I just love you guys.
05:43Thank you for waiting all these years for me to come back,
05:46and I can't wait to come back again.
05:48And I'm so grateful for everything,
05:51and I feel like we've grown up together at this point.
05:54Yeah, I just love you.
05:56You're more than enough.
05:57Thank you so much for this interview.
06:00Thank you.
06:01And to everyone watching, make sure to go stream Better Place.
06:03Yes.
06:04Right now.
