This catchy song is a rarely recorded tune; as far as I know, it was waxed only twice. Sadly, it was totally impossible to retrieve who is behind the vague pseudonym 'Romeo Dance Orchestra'. Romeo 344 (which may have been partly waxed during the same recording session as the side presented in this video, i.e. 343B) is by the 'Dixie Music Makers', a pseudonym for either Bob Haring or Sam Lanin. Romeo 345 is by the 'Society Night Orchestra', which on Cameo as well as its sister labels Romeo and Lincoln is a pseudonym for several bands such as Sam Lanin, Willard Robison, Willie Creager and Irving Mills. Moreover, 'Romeo Dance Orchestra' itself was also used as an alias for Sam Lanin and Bob Haring. Actually, the Online 78 rpm Discographical Project does identify this side as Bob Haring, but taking into account the plethora of overlapping aliases being used and the fact that Brian Rust omits this disc in his Dance Band Discography, the latter credits are anything but sure. The vocalist seems to be sounding like Arthur Fields, but as was to be expected, I could not find any confirmation of this fact either; maybe a listener will come up with the correct name. Because of this total uncertainty regarding the credits, I could not show in this video material presenting the performers of this side. This is why I included in it some sheet music that is indirectly related to the song title. Anyhow, this fun side was recorded in 1927.
