01:29In 2013, Bill Toler, a brick mason, takes on a job at the state penitentiary.

01:35I was starting my own contracting business and doing bricks and remodeling.

01:40We had one really big job, which was the jail.

01:45The tools had to be away from the inmates.

01:47So where we kept our tools at was death row.

03:13Waiting for Bill at home is his wife, Amanda, and their son, Colin.

03:18When Bill and I arrived at the house, we both knew that it was perfect for us.

04:25All right, where were we?

04:31Bill's new business is booming, but it's a mixed blessing.

04:36My work was pretty crazy.

04:39We were working, like, 18-hour days.

04:42We had a couple different jobs going each day.

04:45I would get up around 6, 30-ish, be out the door by 7, 7.30.

04:51It wasn't unusual to see me come home at 2.30 in the morning.

04:55You make the sacrifices for your family so you can have things in life that you normally wouldn't have.

05:31Most days it's up to Amanda to manage the running of the home alone.

05:37Not long after we moved in, maybe one of the first few weeks that we were there, Bill was working as usual.

05:47I was in the living room.

05:56I heard little tapping noises, and I wasn't too sure what to make of it.

06:09The tapping would be the corner, top corner.

06:13It could be the left, the right.

06:15It was so random.

06:36It was in the hallway, and then it got closer to my ear.

07:00I was, like, 100% sure that someone was there.

07:04I just knew I wasn't alone.

07:17Amanda decides to keep what she's heard to herself.

07:56We both heard footsteps upstairs.

07:58We knew that there was nobody up there because Colin was asleep and the boys were with their mom.

08:03And we sat there and listened.

08:05We could hear it walking from one room to the next and down the hallway.

08:10Someone's in the house.

08:13I'll go check it out.

08:24Fearing for his family's safety, Bill grabs a gun he keeps locked away for protection.

08:42So I went upstairs and checked everything out, all the doors and windows.

09:08There was nothing up there.

09:47A few days after moving into a new home, Amanda Toller begins hearing strange noises and sends her husband to search for the intruder.

09:58So I grabbed my gun and went upstairs and checked everything out.

10:20We had a panoramic picture, 18 inches tall, 4 foot wide.

10:25That picture comes off the wall, hits the desk, flips to the left and lands about 6 feet away.

10:33And I had hung it really good.

10:35I smacked the wall and everything to make sure that picture wasn't going to fall because it's canvas.

10:40It should have stopped right when it fell and hit the desk.

10:43There was nothing to give it a different motion.

10:46What's that noise?

10:48The picture fell.

10:54What was going on upstairs?

10:56Nothing.

10:57Colin was sound asleep and all the doors and windows were locked.

11:01Are you sure?

11:04I don't know what it was.

11:05Sometimes houses creak and make noise.

11:08In my head, I'm thinking, it's nothing.

11:11It's just got to be something settling or something.

11:32But Amanda still feels the events are unexplainable.

11:39The footsteps, the whispering, the tapping happened all the time.

11:43Every day I knew that something was watching me.

11:46If I walked down the hallway, it was right on my back.

11:50If I went to the kitchen, it was next to me or right behind me.

11:59And I would always turn around and nothing was there.

12:21Over the next few weeks, Amanda and her son Colin begin to feel their energy being drained.

12:31We get home around 5 o'clock and as soon as we got in the dorm, I would go to the couch with Colin and we would immediately just go to sleep.

12:41And we would wake up around 11 o'clock at night, eat, shower, and go right back to bed.

12:51If I had to come home in the afternoon and grab a tool in between switching jobs or something or sleeping,

13:00if I came home early, 10 o'clock, they're back asleep or they're just waking up off the couch at 10 o'clock.

13:06It was pretty strange.

13:08He was really concerned, so I went to the doctor, had the physical done, I had blood work done.

13:15Everything came back normal.

13:29The mysterious fatigue strikes at all hours.

13:38I would have nightmares, and it would be violent, like horrific, terrifying dreams.

15:21For weeks, Amanda Toller has been sensing an unnerving presence in her house.

15:26Now, she comes face to face with the entity that's been tormenting her.

15:54The event leaves her shaken, but Amanda isn't ready to confront it.

18:19The morning that Bill got scratched, that's when it all became real.

18:37And then it kind of led into everything.

18:41I couldn't deny it anymore.

18:43That's when she kind of opened up and told me everything that was going on with her.

18:48We're dealing with something that can definitely hurt us.

18:53I told Bill that I wanted to move because I was so afraid.

18:57I really just wanted to get out of there.

18:59What are we going to do?

19:01Bill tries to convince Amanda that they can overcome this.

19:05We're going to get through this. The children are fine. They're not experiencing anything.

19:11We agreed to have somebody come in and investigate the house

19:14and try to see if they could find anything wrong with the house.

19:23As they wait for help to arrive, Bill's two sons are home for the weekend.

19:37First thing, I've got to break it in.

21:08After several paranormal experiences in their home,

21:11the Toller family invites John Drenner Jr.,

21:14founder of Glen Burnie Ghost Hunters, to investigate.

21:22The second I walked through that doorway, it felt like I had walked through a brick wall.

24:34No one in this family must ever repeat that name.

24:38Naming it gives it more power.

24:58To know that my son was communicating with a demon was just terrifying.

27:42We were getting ready for work, and Colin was on the bed.

29:28We decided that we weren't going to let the kids sleep upstairs anymore because it was just too dangerous.

29:37Earlier that evening, Bill talked with sons Byron and Corey.

29:44I asked them if they felt anything weird in the house or heard noises that they couldn't explain.

29:51They said, yeah, that they would hear, like, stuff go up and down the hallway.

29:56They said they felt like something was always outside the door.

30:01How long are we going to have to live like this?

30:03Only a couple days, buddy. We're getting to hell.

30:10You could still hear footsteps upstairs, and we're talking five people all in one room, knowing that there's nobody upstairs.

30:38Once again, the family calls in paranormal investigator John Drenner, Jr.

30:43This time he brings along additional support, an expert on demons.

30:49I called him in because I thought he would have a better grasp on what we were dealing with and how we could better attack it.

30:58Once I went inside, I had some strange feelings about the place. Something kept drawing me to the basement.

31:06Downstairs, investigators detect paranormal energy.

33:17Mike further explains that once inside the house, the demon opened a portal.

33:22To protect the family from further harm, the tools must be blessed and the portal sealed.

33:32Anything magnetic can withdraw any type of entity, because they live in a magnetic world.

33:56That they may not again be used as a conduit for entities to come between one threshold and another.

37:48I was driving by here, and I just, I just got this gut feeling that I needed to come inside.

38:41Yeah, that was definitely confirmation that whatever was there was real, and whatever he had dreamt about was a warning.

39:35We were getting the scaffolding stuff out of the backyard, and we were hearing, like, tapping on the glass.

39:56At that point, I said, let's keep going. Let's just hurry up and get this stuff and get out of here.

40:05You ain't gotta tell me twice.

40:19All right. That's yours. You good with that?

40:22The Tollers never spend another night in the home, and begin to rebuild their dreams in a nearby town.

40:29When Bill and I drove away from the house for the very last time, it was a moment of relief to know that it was over. It was done.

40:40And we weren't gonna look back ever again.

40:44We bought a house. Everything's pretty normal.

40:46No weird feelings, no anxiety. Everything felt like it should.

40:55It changed my life.

40:57Before, I was atheist, and then this whole thing changed my view.

41:01I believe in God now, from that whole experience.
