Marcus Blacke and his songs are birthed from life its experiences and many meanderings. His debut album is complete, having worked alongside local Aria award winning producer Govinda Doyle.
Marcus Blacke is well known for his approach to songwriting. Intricately plucked southern style folk guitar weaved within layers of hand crafted storyteller wisdom, sprinkled with the human condition.
Rave Aug 16-22 2011 "Those who prefer men who resemble Johnny Depp and sing like a blade on a whetstone will find Marcus Blacke more up their alley. I'm only catching one word in three, but the Southern-style finger-plucked folk is delivered with a compelling conviction, highlighting the contrasting sweet and sinister undertones."

In 2012 Marcus received airplay Australia wide with the digital release of the Album Blacke Butterfly including Triple J, RTR (Perth), 4ZZZ (Bris), Artsound FM (ACT) Pleasant Valley FM (VIC) along with many other community radio stations nationwide. In 2013 Marcus will be paying Bleach Festival and The One Way Project on the Gold Coast, along with many other shows and an east coast tour to be announced as well as a new album which will be completed by the end of the year.
