Jason Gaunt, 35, was arrested by Benton Police in Arkansas and charged with Furnishing a Firearm to a Convicted Felon, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. According to news reports, Gaunt was involved in a bizarre staged shooting of Timothy Gauldin, 29. Investigators believe that Gaunt helped Gauldin shoot himself in an attempt to elicit sympathy from a former love interest of Gauldin's.
Police reportedly recovered the gun used in the shooting as well as a marijuana grow house operation in Gaunt's home. He told local media that the shooting would make more sense as the investigation proceeds. Gaunt is a teacher with the Little Rock School District.
