ADAM SCRIVEN - DONE WITH DOING BATTLE

PRESENTED BY ALLAN

A standing ovation at Woodford folk Festival marked the release of Adam's debut EP "Dreams ans Alibis" at the start of the year. Since then he has been captivating audiences up and down Australia's East Coast with his passionate multi-instrumental mix of blues, folk rock and roots, sharing the stage with the likes of Lior, OKA, Hat Fitz and Cara and many other local and national acts. 2012 will be a big year on the road, taking music to audiences far and wide. Be prepared to have your soul lifted and emotions touched by Adam's heartfelt delivery of his songs and tales of life.
Incorporating intricate finger picking, virtuoso and percussive guitar techniques, yidaki (didgeridoo), harmonica, an infectious foot stomp and conscious lyrics, Adam's songs are inspired by a deep connection and love for this beautiful land and country he feels privileged to call home.
Hailing from the South West of England, it wasn't until the age of twnety-one whilst travelling in Australia that he began his musical journey playing Djembe by camp fire light. A few months spent in the Northern Territory introduced Adam to the Yidaki (didgeridoo) and with a deep feel for the importance of rhythm, Adam began to blend these instruments and at the age of twenty-three picked up a guitar with a passion and drive to express himself through melody and word.
Coming back to live on the Sunshine coast in 2009 and involving himself with the organisation of community events and festivals, Adam began to working on a live show incorporating much of what he had seen and heard on his travels. He is continually inspired by the wealth of local talent in the region and the supportive arts community which he feels honoured to be a part of.
Now playing shows all over South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales, and winning over audiences at every turn, Adam is looking forward to what the future holds but very much enjoying life at the present.
