Thousands of Romanians across the country have protested against Chevron's plans to explore for shale gas.

The U.S. oil and gas giant wants to begin drilling its first test wells.

But protestors are piling pressure on the country's leftist government to withdraw concessions, fearing land exploitation and agricultural damage.
