Senior policeman's death shocks Mumbai

A senior police officer attached with Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in front of his family members in a hotel at neighboring Thane on Saturday (March 23), police said. Though the motive behind Sanjay Banerjee (45), a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), taking the extreme step is being ascertained, police suspect that he was facing some domestic issues in recent months.
