The eurozone’s latest bailout request has come from Cyprus. But unlike previous aid packages, this one makes the general public pay for mistakes made by bankers and politicians - with everyone with savings in Cypriot banks taking a hit to their deposits. In Germany, the bailout is controversial: Chancellor Angela Merkel’s proposal might yet be voted down by the German parliament.
