Iran prepares for elections amid sanctions

Khorasan, a downtown, working class suburb in Tehran, is expected to play a big role in deciding the outcome of Iran's presidential elections.

This neighbourhood, like others, has felt the impact of the sanctions. In the last year, some shopkeepers reported their income has fallen by half.

This happened as the Iranian rial plunged in value against the dollar and inflation soared.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad cannot run again, so some are hoping that means change, and economic change for the better.

Al Jazeera's Soraya Lennie reports from Tehran.
