Kenny Ball (1930-2013)

Kenny Ball (born Kenneth Daniel Ball; 22nd May 1930 - 7th March 2013) was an English jazz musician, best known as the bandleader, lead trumpet player and vocalist in Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen. Ball continued to tour until shortly before his death, his last scheduled concert being, aptly, with Acker Bilk and Chris Barber at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall. He died at Basildon Hospital, Essex, where he was being treated for pneumonia.
