Stones scoop two NME Awards as Ronnie Wood joins Johnny Marr on stage

Two of the world's best known guitarists came together on stage Wednesday for the NME awards in London.

Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones joined Johnny Marr formerly of the Smiths to perform the latter's track 'How Soon is Now'.

Wood also collected best live act on behalf of the Stones, who reurned to the stage late last year to celebrate 50 years in the business.

SOUNDITE, Ronnie Wood, Stones guitarist, saying (English):

"You know, the boys, they're gonna be really honoured to find this out. And, you know, we've only waited 50 years for it, so it's not a bad time to wait. Thank you."

The Stones also won best film for their documentary Crossfire Hurricance. Wood said before the ceremony that he wanted to do more live shows, including playing Glastonbury.
