Key to this victory was excellent AB de Villiers batting as he scored a century in South Africa's 409, debutant Kyle Abbott bowling most of Pakistan's batsman out in the first innings as he took seven for 29 and Dale Steyn picking up four for 80 on the final day.

Pakistan were completely outclassed and South Africa showed just how strong their reserves our by comprehensively winning the final Test by an innings and 18 runs despite the absence through injury of both Jacques Kallis and Morne Morkel.
