Seine started in 2007 as a singer songwriter project by Ivan Ščapec. Guided by his internal soft-aggressive sensibility, he soon gained the fame as spiritual relative of American freak folk movement. After several demos, he was joined by Tena on back vocals, playing the accordion and percussion, and Seine became a duo. In 2011 they released their first album „2007-2009", as an overview of their work in those few years. They describe their music as expressive romantic folk.
