Rooster Jenkins is an energetic ball of sound with a laid-back swagger that only the cool kids can understand. You'll want to jiggle in your chair, bop your head, drink whiskey, and slap your boyfriend( but in a sexy way). For most part, you'll want to tilt your head to the side and listen with a smile. Tricky Jones sings smart-ass, quirky lyrics that border on sweet while she demands your attention with sultry, smoky tones. Marty Mack on the drums captures the funk and swing of the beat with brilliance and does an excellent job with the simple yet fun song structures. Kelly Knowles on lead guitar brings the country/blues element to the band with his saucy guitar licks, but doesn't get carried away while Colleen Butler coils her way around the songs with grace and patience. With Kelly's blues guitar, Marty's sweet beats, Colleen's sexy grooves and Tricky's soulful lyrics, Rooster Jenkins is definitely something worth giving an ear to.
