Manhunt launched for ex-L.A. cop

Police on edge in Los Angeles as a manhunt is underway for a former police officer who has threatened quote "warfare" on his former colleagues.

. (SOUNDBITE) (English) LOS ANGELES POLICE CHIEF, CHARLIE BECK, SAYING:

"Christopher Dorner is wanted for a series of crimes including assaults on officers and three homicides in southern California in the past week.

The LAPD dispatched more than 40 security personnel to protect people thought to be in danger of attack from the 33 year-old U.S. Navy reservist.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) LOS ANGELES POLICE CHIEF, CHARLIE BECK, SAYING:

"Of course he knows what he's doing, we trained him. He was also a member of the armed forces. It is extremely worrisome and scary especially to the police officers involved."

The manhunt led to the wounding of two bystanders by police in the town just south of Los Angeles, where officers opened fire on a pickup truck resembling the one Dorner was thought to be driving
