Romanian authorities have arrested three people in connection with the Rotterdam art heist last year that led to the disappearance of seven irreplaceable masterpieces.

The assistant of a Romanian fashion designer was detained on Monday night (January 28) for 24 hours, accused of conspiracy.

Seven paintings were stolen from the Kunsthal museum on October 16, making it the biggest heist in 20 years.

The missing works included paintings by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, and Claude Monet. Together, they are valued at over 18 million Euros.

The stolen works have yet to be recovered.
