Islamist militants have reportedly seized five Japanese nationals and a French citizen from an oil facility in Ain Amenas in southern Algeria.
According to local and diplomatic sources the foreigners were taken from the facility early in the morning.
But there was been no immediate confirmation of the abduction from Algerian or French officials.
