Justin Bieber slams 'haters' on big night at AMAs

18-year-old pop sensation Justin Bieber swept the American Music Awards on Sunday - winning all three categories in which he was nominated.
On taking to stage to claim his award, Bieber immediately took aim at his critics.

"This is for all the haters who that though, you know, that maybe I was just here for one or two years, you know, but I feel like I'm gonna be here for a very long time."
The Canadian singer won favourite pop/rock male artist and favourite pop/rock album.
He was also named artist of the year, winning out over acts including Rihanna, Katy Perry and Maroon 5.
Dateless after his well-publicised split from actress Selena Gomez, Bieber asked his mom to be his date for the night, at one point taking her on stage to publically thank her for her support.

"This is my mom, she's little, but she's beautiful, and thank you so much / I can't even think, I'm just so blown away right now, I want to thank you for just always believing in me, I want to thank, just everyone. This is amazing. This is amazing."
