Chicago Cheers For President Barack Obama

When news of President Barack Obama winning re-election on Tuesday broke more than ten thousand supporters who gathered in Chicago began cheering.

Many of the supporters had expected to be in for a long night and while they were surprised but the speed of the poll decision they were not surprised by the result.

"It was wonderful. It was absolutely wonderful. I mean, it was a really really hard fight but at the end we came out winning. We came out the victors," she said.

"It was everything, absolutely everything. It was either we weren't going to have health care and not care about woman. They wanted small government but government that didn't care about which didn't care about your personal life which was crazy,"

"When he came out was nice but when he came back on stage and it was everybody. The vice president, members of his cabinet and such. And then he had a moment when everybody was off the stage and he came back out and I saw tears in his eyes and it gave me goose bumps and it made feel proud and connected."

President Barack Obama won a second term in the White House on Tuesday, overcoming deep doubts among voters about his handling of the U.S. economy to score a clear victory over Republican challenger Mitt Romney.
