Syrians stage peaceful anti-government protest
  • 12 years ago
Syrians march in the town of Binnish, in a peaceful demonstration against the rule of President Bashar al-Assad.

Nearly 18 months since the start of the uprising and peaceful demos are still taking place, as the violent civil war sweeps the country.

Amateur video obtained by Reuters showed protesters calling for Syrians to have faith in God and remain united.

Banners condemned the international community for inaction.

The march took place just nine miles (15 kilometres) from Idlib, which has seen fighting between rebels and government troops.

More than 30,000 people have been killed in the ongoing conflict.

Hundreds of thousands more have fled across Syria's borders.
