Georgian opposition leader says president should resign

The opposition party leader and projected winner of Georgia's election had this suggestion for President Mikheil Saakashvili -- resign.

SOUNDBITE: Georgian opposition leader Bidzina Ivanishvili saying (Russian) :

"Look, after that chaos he created in the constitution he will not be able to play on this field, he will not be able to retain power, he has no chances, so to answer your question, his only right step, the easiest step for him and the best way out for us would be another right decision for him to make and write his resignation letter and call presidential elections. And that would be the end of it."

Ivanishvili, a 56 year old billionaire heads the Georgian Dream Coalition. He says his party is ready for a smooth and peaceful transition of power --- the first one by a vote in Georgia since the breakup of the Soviet Union.
