A Fort Hood solider used a method for curing hiccups which has landed him in some hot water.

Private First Class, Patrick Edward Myers has been charged with manslaughter after allegedly shooting another soldier in the face, following an attempt to scare the hiccups away.

Myers and two other men were drinking and watching sports, when the victim, 22-year-old, Isaac Lawrence Young got a case of the hiccups. Myers allegedly pulled out a gun to frighten him.

However, during the gunplay, something went wrong. Police and medical personnel arrived on the scene and Young was declared dead shortly after.

A police official stated “weapons are nothing to be played with, especially handguns and when that happens it doesn't come out good."

Earlier this year, another case of gun amusement went wrong. A Conway man shot himself in the head after performing a reenactment from a movie. The gun discharged on the third trigger pull, killing him.
