Shares of Samsung (Seoul: 005930) rose 15,000 Korean won (US $13.21) in Seoul trading on Tuesday, despite requests by Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) to ban sales of eight products in the U.S.

Samsung shares closed at 1,195 million won, reversing their 7.5 percent slump on Monday, the first trading day after a jury in U.S. District Court in California found that that the company had infringed upon various Apple patents and was ordered to pay at least $1.05 billion.

The judge was asked by Apple to ban sales of Samsung products that were involved in the case, but Samsung said it would appeal. Shares of Apple fell $1.45 to $674.23 in early Tuesday trading, after setting another record high of $680.87 on Monday.
