A visit to a mosque in Malaysia for Britian's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they continue their high profile tour of South East Asia.

But the visit was overshadowed on Friday by topless photos of the Duchess surfacing in a French magazine.

Clarence House has confirmed the photos are of the Duchess while the couple have said they are deeply saddened by the invasion of privacy.

In Malaysia, however, the news has not dented the Duchess' popularity.

"As a fan, I don't mind as long as she is a wonderful lady so I don't mind."

SOUNDBITE) (English) MALAYSIAN, SITI NORIHAN MOHAMMAD SAYING:

".. for me, as a Malaysian, we just ignore all the bad news about her. (Reporter asked: and you will still like her?) Yes, yes… of course, she is so pretty."

In the UK, many Brits condemned the photos as an invasion of privacy though some said they weren't concerned.

SOUNDBITE)(English) CIVIL ENGINEER, CHRIS SMITH, SAYING:

"I don't think it's right no, I think it's an invasion of privacy really."

SOUNDBITE)(English) RESIDENT OF CAMBRIDGE, PHIL, SAYING:

" I think it's just so unimportant when half the world is starving. She can get them out or whoever she wants, they can take whatever photos they want. She's just an ordinary person, it's not that important."

The photos are a fresh blow to the Royal Family as it tries to move on from a scandal over naked photos of Prince Harry which surfaced last month.

Sources say Buckingham Palace is planning to contact French lawyers since the photos were taken in a private location, in violation of French privacy laws.
