Carolina Herrera presented her Spring/Sumer 2013 collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York on Monday (September 10) filled with soft fabrics and colors to match. Herrera used color blocking on long dresses and abstract prints were found on silk tops. This season she also featured a higher waist on skirts and shorts. The Venezuelan-born designer revealed that her lifestyle plays a big part in what she designs. Pops of gold, ivory, sea foam and orange were sprinkled throughout the collection. Herrera said her use of electric orange is a way to awaken the senses after a dull winter. Embroidered tulle overlays were seen on long and short dresses, giving what would be a regular dress an added flair.
