Pro-Assad forces raze and bulldoze homes thought to shelter rebels

Destroyed homes and rubble are becoming an increasingly common sight in some Damascus districts.

Syria's National Council President Abdel-Baset Seida claims millions of his compatriots are being forced from their residences due to government forces' razing and bulldozing of homes.

Amateur video that Reuters cannot independently verify purports to show the aftermath said to be recorded on Sunday.

Speaking from Spain on Monday, Seida says Syria's government is using any weapons it can to suppress the popular uprising.

"The truth is that they make use of all kinds of weapons. And there are several parts of Syria that have been razed completely. As I have said we have three million Syrians that have lost their homes and are displaced or living as refugees."

The homes supposedly sheltered insurgents engaged in fierce fighting against Bashar al-Assad's forces.
