Red Bull, a brand synonymous with adventure seekers, is behind some of the most extreme and original events.
Since its debut several years ago, Red Bull Upstream has challenged competitors to wakeboard upstream. Two competitors including the winner from the 2011 challenge, recently tested Solvenia’s Bled Gorge and Soca River for possible future locations. Although the water was freezing cold, the competitors had a blast gliding over rocks and tree logs. They claim it’s easier to get higher speeds going upstream.
In another Red Bull event, Austrian daredevil, Felix Baumgartner, successfully dove from 17 miles above Roswell, New Mexico, at one point reaching speeds of 600 miles per hour as a test run to his upcoming mission.
Volvo recently became another company behind a jaw-dropping stunt. Deemed the ‘Ballerina Stunt’, a woman had to walk across a tightrope between two speeding Volvo trucks. The promotional stunt was done to show the “precise handling of the new Volvo FH”.
