Kansas 9/11 memorial draws big crowds

US citizens are preparing to mark the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks that shook the nation.

Residents of a small town called Anthony in the midwestern state of Kansas, thousands of kilometres away from New York and Washington DC where the attacks took place, say they still feel the ripple effects of the tragedy.

The town, with a mere population of 2,000, has built a memorial with remnants of the World Trade Center that has attracted visitors from across the region.

Gabriel Elizondo reports from Anthony, Kansas.
