Utilizing soil and a liquid binder to make the dirt solid, the goal is to construct architectural structures by dispersing the hardened soil using a jet spray system. While the project is currently under research, its founders say that they "want to push further the boundaries of digital manufacturing and explore the possibilities of on-site fabrication machines.”
The soil is the principal constructing material and the machine is solar powered, making the entire process eco-friendly.
The team has successfully completed some fascinating structures. The ‘Sand Tree experiment’ was created using “multi directional spraying without the scaffolding”. The ‘Sand Wall’ project shows part of a wall that is structurally sound with capabilities of “bearing a load”.
