A recent government report shows that the country's obesity rates continue to remain high.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conducted a telephone survey in 2011 asking 400,000 Americans to enter their weight and height.
The results were shocking. Not one state in the entire country had obesity rates of less than 20%.
Although the newest obesity results cannot be compared to past findings due to a methodology change, twelve states were found to have obesity rates of 30% and upwards.
While Colorado was found to possess the lowest obesity rate at 20.7%, Mississippi was discovered to have the highest at a whopping 34.9%. Other state contenders with the highest numbers include Louisiana at 33.4%,
West Virginia at 32.4% and Alabama with 32%.
Among the lower rates include Hawaii at 21.8% and Massachusetts 22.7%.
