It is commonly believed that creativity thrives in environments where resources are limited. Numerous historical accounts describe ingenious ways prisoners have used to smuggle goods into jails.

A recent story by RIA Novosti reports a new technique applied by inmates - getting a cat to take drugs into a prison.

The penitentiary where this took place is located in Rostov which is in southern part of Russia.

RIA Novosti notes - "They carried the animal in their bags and handed it over to drug dealers who were waiting outside the prison fence. They stuffed the feline’s collar with heroin and released the animal, who sneaked back into the prison."

Another unusual way to hide drugs was employed by a 34-year-old man from Long Beach who was busted at the Los Angeles International Airport. Federal customs officials discovered more than four pounds of methamphetamine stashed away in candy bars. Agents found a large box in the man’s luggage during inspection and opened it to find 45 separately wrapped Snickers bars.
