In Syria, a leading human rights activist and lawyer has been arrested.
The detention of Ibrahim El Qasem comes as thousands of security forces combed the streets of the capital Damascus on Saturday.
Activists say they were looking for anti-government protesters but further north in Homs, it was a very different picture.
