Chavez hails Venezuela's 200th 'birthday'

Venezuelans have marked 200 years of independence from Spain with a military parade, but Hugo Chavez, the president of Venezuela, who is recovering from cancer treatments, stayed at home in the Presidential Palace.

Chaves did however deliver a message to Venezuelans on state television.
