More than 40-thousand Syrians have crossed into Turkey.

A steady stream of refugees cross into Turkey from Syria.

The border is important as a route for to evacuate the injured and as a supply line for food and medicine.

However, even fighters cross into Turkey, not for shelter, but to collect supplies.

The Turkish military keep a close watch on the border, but they are turning a blind eye on what is going on.

For the Syrian free army footpaths through a forest are a lifeline.

Al Jazeera's Andrew Simmons reports from Antakya, on the Syrian Turkish border.
