Romney sets US election fundraising record

US presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has set a new fund-raising record within the Republican party. He raised more than $100 million in June alone.

Four years ago, Barack Obama raised more money than any other candidate in US history, but this time he's being massively outspent, thanks in large part to a 2010 Supreme Court decision which allowed corporations to make unlimited political contributions.
