Hundreds arrested after Mexico City riot

Surveillance cameras capture violent riots after a Reggaeton concert in Mexico City.

Following the protest, police arrested 226 people - most of them under the age of 18.

Hundreds of police were involved in the operation.

One student says she and others were beaten by police.

(SOUNDBITE)(Spanish) BRENDA MORALES LOPEZ, DETAINEE, SAYING:

"They grabbed a friend and me in a plaza. But my friend escaped. When the police arrived, they began to beat us all."

The incident began when hundreds of young people were unable to fit inside the concert venue.

According to police, the crowd went on a violent rampage, damaging street lights, subway turnstiles, setting off fireworks and even attacking people on the street.
